INTRODUCTION
One of these passed nights, the Lord has spoken to me through a dream.
It’s interesting how God can relate to us in such manner. That’s how it happened with Abimelech when Abraham and Sarah lived in Gerar. God, through a dream, advised the king of Gerar not to take Sarah as his wife, because she was Abraham’s wife.
“But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.”
(Genesis 20.3)
In the same manner, through a dream, Jacob saw a ladder touching the land and having its top touching the sky. He saw God’s angels gowing up and down and, by living this rich experience, received a promise from the Lord.
God told him:
“And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; and thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of”.
(Genesis 28.13-15)
And at last, amongst many other dreams in the bible, we couldn’t leave out the Pharaoh's Dream, that knew, through a revelation given by God to Joseph, what would happen to Egypt during his royal dynasty.
“And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do. The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one. And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine. This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh. Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: and there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; and the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.”
(Genesis 41.25-36)
Inspired and propelled by God’s holly spirit, from now on, I start to tell you a dream: The dream that brought serenity and answer to my deepest and most intimate questions.
